How do I install a new modem?
Most of the Dell cases can be opened without tools, it should not be too difficult.

Take a look at "Removing the Cover"
Next click on then "Removing and Installing Parts" and then click on "Cards".
You should be able to replace your modem with any PCI modem compatible with your operating system. Go to Bestbuy or Officemax and tell them what you're looking for and they'll help you choose a modem that is compatible. Just follow the modem manufacturer's directions to install. Sometimes they want you to install software then hardware, sometimes the opposite. Just follow their directions.

Usually answered in minutes!
computer turns on and goes to the user screens but when u click on them nothing comes on but the backround screen and there is not icons or star button at all
