MAYTAG WASHER THAT WAS IN MID CYCLE AND STOPPED AT THE RINSE AND SPIN PART. TURNED OFF THE WASHER AND TURNED ON BUT MAKES A CLICKING NOISE. ALSO LOUD WHEN ITS IN THE SPIN CYCLE. HELP!!!

The brake mechanism is not releasing properly. The noise your hearing is the motor trying to move but can't. Do not continue to operate the washer or you will burn out the motor...an expensive replacement. See instructions for my other solutions.
Most noises from a washing machine occur during the rinse or spin cycle. If you hear loud thumping during the spin, the load of clothes may have become unbalanced. Stop the washer and redistribute the clothes, then re-start it. Repeat these steps if necessary.This will solve your problem.
I just replaced the trans in my maytag.if the washer is less than 5 years old trans is covered under warranty. but here is the kicker, labor and thrush bearing is not. trans cost is about 300.00 and labor is about the same. a new washer is about 450.00 So if you know someone who can do trans.[like for free] if not buy a new one. Good Luck
It doesn't look like a motor problem !!! It seems like an unbalanced tub issue. The machin has suspension dampers and suspension rods, and it's look like one of them was damaged or "run away" from its location during machin's movement.
