You didn't state the Operating System you are using, so I am going to use Windows XP Home Edition for an example,

Driver - Audio

Now is that for a Soundmax? Dunno.

Do know you can look the model number up on the soundcard, if it is a SoundMax soundcard, go to SoundMax support, and download the drivers.

I can tell you how to step by step download AND install, the drivers on the HP Support page; or the drivers from the SoundMax page.

I got problem on SoundMAX.dll error

The missing dll SoundMAX.dll is the dynamic link library module of Staccato Systems SynthCore 3 Library software program.

The dll file as well as the included Staccato Systems SynthCore 3 Library program is produced by Staccato Systems.

SoundMAX.dll is an important component for the program and in the case it is corrupt or not found you can get Windows problem warnings similar to; "SoundMAX.dll is deleted" or "Staccato Systems SynthCore 3 Library failed to start because SoundMAX.dll is not found".

To fix the error, you need to replace the corrupted or missing SoundMAX.dll file with a working one.

The current version of dll file available on our site is with a size of 1008 kb.

You may download the file for legally licensed software only.

You can download SoundMAX.dll for free by clicking the link below.

After you download the file, unzip it to Windows system directory ("Windows/System32" for

Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7). You can use Winzip or Winrar to extract files.

Press "Start" and select "Run".

Type CMD and press Enter.

Type regsvr32 *dllfilename* and press enter again.

Download SoundMAX.dll v3.0.0.0

Please note : No guarantees or warranties are given or implied.

Please download and install the file at your own risk.

Always take a backup of the original file in case something goes wrong

hope this helps

I can't find a soundmax Integrated Audio driver for Win7 Ultimate OS. I would like to have one before I upgrade my Win XP to Win7 since it was the recommendation of Win7 compatibility Advisor. Thanks...

First, shame on Microsoft! Second, many are having the same issue you are now experiencing. What has worked is installing the Vista driver package.

Click on the link below and download the file.
Go to device manager and uninstall the current driver for Soundmax Intergrated Audio soundcard.
Double click on the downloaded program to install your soundcard driver.
If the program has issues installing the driver (due to incompatibility with Windows 7) go back to the device manager and right-click on the Soundmax Integrated Audio soudcard
Select Update driver
When searching for the updated driver, direct the search (or select manual search) to the folder the file created when you double clicked on it (swsetup>Sp36530>i386>Vista)
This should enable your soundcard.

Best of luck!

Driver of soundmax onboard in Win7

Win7 is a recently dev version of windows. i don't think that the manufactures has begin writing the drivers for their products. see in the manufactures website if they have provided the drivers or else you cannot install the drivers. even if you some how install the drivers, the product cannot offer full efficiency.

Its a software loader tool. The guy who built this e-machine didn't do his job here are removal instructions.
1. Right-click on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and choose "Manage". Go to "Services and Applications" then "Services" Right-click on the PrismXL service and choose "stop". (FOR THE NOVICE: This step turns off PrismXL so that you can remove it from your computer)
2. Next, browse to C:\Program Files\Common Files\New Boundary OR C:\Program Files\Common Files\Lanovation, then delete the New Boundary or Lanovation folder. (FOR THE NOVICE: This step will delete the program files PrismXL uses to execute)
3. From Start/Run, type "regedit". Go to HKey_Local_Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\PrismXL. Delete the PrismXL key. (FOR THE NOVICE: This step removes the entries in the System Registry that contain the settings for PrismXL)
4. If you have a shortcut in Start Menu\Programs\Startup called "Install Pending Files" delete the shortcut. (FOR THE NOVICE: This step removes an instruction to run the PrismXL install program every time your computer boots up)
5. If you have the folder C:\Program Files\SIFXINST, delete the SIFXINST folder. (FOR THE NOVICE: This step removes the folder that contains the PrismXL install files. It may or may not be on your computer)

The service is now fully removed.
After a reboot, it will no longer be listed in Services and it will be gone forever.

Dell speakers

Chances are that when you deleted Soundmax, you deleted the drivers as well. I am going to assume that you 'deleted' the "Soundmax" entry from your Add/Remove Programs console or chose "Uninstall" from the Soundmax folder in your start menu.

The problem is not your speakers. The problem is the audio hardware. I'm willing to bet that you don't have any drivers installed for your Soundmax audio hardware.

More often than not, when you uninstall the software for your audio hardware, it also removes the drivers for the audio hardware.

I would try re-downloading the drivers for your Soundmax hardware and reinstall them.

Soundmax Drivers:

I am also aware that this Soundmax chip was licensed to a different company by Realtek. (They designed the chip.) You can also try the Realtek AC'97 audio chip drivers. There may be a few differences in the way the software works, though. Here you go:

I myself would recommend the Realtek Drivers. However, I also have an experience with this particular chipset where I installed the drivers in Windows XP Service Pack 1 or below and they worked just fine. But if I installed the drivers in Windows XP Service Pack 2, the system just reboots itself over and over again unless I use Safe Mode and uninstall the drivers.

Instead of fighting with that issue, however... I just put in a different soundcard and deactivated the onboard audio hardware in the motherboard's BIOS.

Just a heads up on that...

Good luck with this. Let us know what happens if you need more help.
