Trying to connect to internet on my sons psp but cant remember the password that was entered, and i cant set up the internet on his psp , testing connection is failing

  • Richard T May 11, 2010

This question isn't clear. Do you have wifi available where you are attempting to connect? Have you ever successfully connected? What password can't you remember? The one on your PSP? Or the WEP password for your router/wifi?

Go to your Settings, System Settings, and click on Restore default settings. Doing this resets everything to factory settings. Don't worry, it ONLY resets settings. It won't delete anything on your Memory Stick. This feature resets your nicknames, any passwords, and along with Flash player and WMA playback. This will work. When you are done, it will be as if you just got your PSP. Your data will still be intact. However, if you're talking about not knowing the password on your Wi-fi network, then you'll have to contact the provider.

What i need to do to connect my psp for internet

You will need a wireless router in order to connect the PSP to the internet
  • With your Psp turned on go to the "Settings" in the menu (scroll to the left)
  • Scroll all the way down until you have reached "Network Settings" and click the "X" button to enter
  • Select "Infrastructure Mode" and hit "X"
  • Select "New Connection" and hit the X button again
  • Now you will have a number of options for connecting to a wireless connection. Choose "Scan" and press the control pad to the left, the PSP will now scan for wifi signals around your area
  • When the PSP finishes scanning you will probably have a few different wifi connections. SSID is the name of the connection, the Security column tells you whether or not the connection is password protected, and the last one is the signal strength the higher the better
  • If you want to borrow your neighbors unprotected wifi select a connection with "None" in the security column and a strong signal. If you want to use a secure wifi than you will need to know the password. Select one and press the X button
  • Now the Psp will confirm your settings proceed by pressing left on the d-pad and save your settings
  • Now test your connection if you are able to connect, awesome. If you were not able to connect try doing the settings again

I tried to connect to internet from my psp2, but always connection erroe occured. Please advise how to set up wifi connection. Thanks

Hello

To connect your PSP to the Internet, you must manually configure the WiFi settings for your device. The PSP will not automatically search for and connect to available wireless

Turn on your PSP by moving the power button on the right-hand side of the console in an upward motion. Under the console's main screen, go to the "Settings" icon. This is the first icon listed and is farthest to the left. From the drop-down menu, choose the "Network Settings" option at the end of the list.

Select "Infrastructure Mode" and press the "X" button. Select the "New Connection" option to add a wireless connection to your PSP. Choose the "Scan" option to instruct your PSP to search for accessible wireless connections in your area.

Select a wireless connection from the connections your PSP is able to access. Confirm the name of the network and press the right arrow button. Confirm the security encryption settings for the connection. In most cases, the PSP will determine the network's encryption automatically. Enter the wireless connection's password if the network is secured.

Name your new wireless connection so that you will be able to identify it in the future and save your settings. Run a test connection to ensure you are able to connect to the Internet through the wireless network.

Press your PSP's "Home" button at the bottom left-hand side of the console. Move your cursor to the right to find the "Network" icon. Select the "Internet Browser" option from the drop-down menu. Press the up directional arrow and press "X" to enter a web address into the browser. Once you enter a web address, your PSP will automatically connect to the Internet using the WiFi connection you set up previously.

I need help connecting to the internet with my psp

Connecting the PSP to the internet is pretty easy once you get all your settings in place. Here’s how to connect the psp to the Internet. You will need a wireless router in order to connect the PSP to the internet or you could “borrow” your neighbours wireless access although it’s better to have your own. Wireless routers are very cheap nowadays you could find a good one for about 30 for 50 bucks.
  • With your Psp turned on go to the “Settings” in the menu (scroll to the left)
  • Scroll all the way down until you have reached “Network Settings” and click the “X” button to enter
  • Select “Infrastructure Mode” and hit “X”
  • Select “New Connection” and hit the X button again
  • Now you will have a number of options for connecting to a wireless connection. Choose “Scan” and press the control pad to the left, the PSP will now scan for wifi signals around your area
  • When the PSP finishes scanning you will probably have a few different wifi connections. SSID is the name of the connection, the Security column tells you whether or not the connection is password protected, and the last one is the signal strength the higher the better

How to get internet on my psp

Look its not necessary get internet on ur psp. Its how to connect to the internet on the psp. You are gonna need a wireless internet network. Usually at food restaurants, or at ur house. Its not like you can connect the psp with a cable to the internet. Its all wireless hottie262477. To find wireless go all the way to your left on the psp and turn on the wifi button. Then go ur settings and all the way down to network settings. From there click on infracture mode. And scan for wireless hotspots. Of course any wireless one that says it needs a wep code. Means that it has a password and if you don't know the password you can't necessarily access it. So use the no password hotspots. Also remember its very easy to connect a wireless network in your house as long as u have high speed internet. Now that you this u can enjoy ur psp and play online and use the web browser. Good luck Diego :-)
