Problem with picture freezing on dvd player

Hi Guys,

I seem to be having a problem with my LG dvd player I bought about a year ago. It seems that some of the dvd's I hire from Blockbusters Video store tend to freeze about halfway through the movie.

It starts off with a glitch in the picure, it then progresses to about a second long freeze, which gets more frequent and finally it freezes then unfreezes then freezes and unfeezes again about every second or two for the remainder of the movie.

Once the movie has finished, it has absolutely no trouble getting through the credits.

Blockbusters blames my dvd player, but I think it may have something to do with the copying of the dvd's perhaps, because I treied two different copies of a particular movie and they both started freezing at the same movie scene.

Can you guys shed some light onto this, do you know what is happening and why?
