How to change 110v to 220v on sonance cinema 260 subwoofer amplifier

I suggest contacting the manufacturer as there may be an internal "reconnect" that would allow 220v operation. Good luck!

Most  transformers have a thermal fuse fitted, this can be bypassed/replaced  to get the amp working again. Are you up to having a go at fixing it?

Fender Vibro King Pilot light out??

Hi superleaddud

MOst probable, is that an output tube went west(decrease in vol), and in turn popped the fuse(pilotlight went out). It is always a decent first bet that this is what has happened. You get generally 6 months out of a set out output tubes if you use the amp often, and at gig levels every week. I would first check and replace the fuse, and then the output tubes. GT 6L6GE are factory for that amp, and always a fair bet to use the same to replace them. If you cant extend to the budget for the GT's, then Russian made (Sovtek) Electro Harmonix make a decent quality tube that sound good in guitar amps. . Always replace them as a pair, and buy them gain matched. Get the Grove Tubes from a music store, and the Electro Harmonix from an amp repair specialist. Happy to answer any question you may have about the problem. Cheers. A FixYa rating is a great reward for my assistance to you.

Transformer is blown

Have you checked to see if the thermal fuse has failed on the transoformer. This can be repaired. Get back to me here if you want to know more about it.

Peavey xxx stopped working during a show

Hi lespaul 2001

Have you checked your HT fuse. If it fails it will have lights but no sound. Pays to check fuses with a multimeter, as they sometimes look good, but can be dud.

A faulty or intermittent lead speaker box lead will aldo make the head blow fusesCheck the lead to your speaker box also. Dont use a stomp box patch lead. be sure to use a decent speaker lead with quality jacks(switch craft) and at least 16 gauge cable. Ernie Ball make a decent speaker lead for guitar rigs.

If the head keeps blowing fuses, I would suggest that you change you output tubes(4 x 6L6GC). I recommend Electro Harmonix, by Sovtek as a budget conscious option. Get them as a gain matched quartet.

If it does not have a blown fuse at all... then get back to me here and we can do some more tests.

I am more than happy to answer any other questions you may have about it, just give me a hoy :) If you are still unsure, or have problems, then before you give a rating for this advice, please get back to me and we can try some more things.

About converting from 110 volt to 220 volt Sonance Cinema 5150

Yes no problem all you need is a transfromer that converts 230volts AC to 110 volts AC.

Have a look in your yellow pages to find a Transfromer company
located in your vincinity.

You will need to visit him with the wattage of your amplifier and order a step down transfromer. (The wattage is found on the small plate on the rear of the amplifier. Sometimes its written as KVA?.

Please ensure that the plug on the amplifier is changed to specially fit the 110v output of the transformer this is a must as people plug the wrong plug into the wrong socket and burn out the amplifiers.

Cheers YUBEUT.

Hi Ruud

How electronics savvy are you... have searched for a parts supplier outside of the US, and ... still searching. I can give you a fix for the transformer if indeed that is what is the problem:) Need you to be able to solder and be handy with a screwdriver, and perhaps have a basic multimeter handy... are you ready? :)
