Re: dark screen

Two reason for the screen to be dark
1. If you can see 'shadow' images on the screen, this implys the backlight tube or the inverter circuit has blown.

2 If No images show up at all then this is a mainboard failure
This is assuming the batteries are ingood condition and the camera powers up..

Check Vivitar support for repair/replacement options.
If under ewarranty it will be replaced
If out of warranty - New Camera Time

Dark Viewfinder. The image results are dark too. It's been like this for two days. And I swear I did not do anything wrong. :(

If the image results are dark, the problem must be inside the camera. If you changed the lens something fell inside it and is blocking the light to the camera. You should check your nearest Nikon store and get it fixed because if you try doing it yourself you could damage the sensor permanently and destroy your camera completley.

Upon turning on my Nikon P100, i hear a clicking noise, and then there is a dark crescent shape on the right side of the screen, and then, the aiming reticle is to the right until i zoom in fully, at which...

Without seeing it myself, it sounds like it's the aperture inside the lens that is stuck at an angle. Unfortunately the only solution is to replace the lens assembly. Check with Nikon to see if you can get an estimate, I know if you send it in you can get a free estimate and refuse it if it's too high and they will send it back at no charge.

Aloha, My Lumix DMC-TZ3 is having issues. When I turn it on it is extremely dark. It's almost as if the camera is only registering one side of the color spectrum. Even the pictures that are taken come out...

Unless the protector blades on the front of the lens aren't opening fully, this doesn't sound like a lens problem. It sounds more like a sensor problem. Reset is accomplished by going into the menu and finding "reset"...follow the on-screen instructions. If you can't access the menu, do this:...remove the card and every button...leave it alone for 20 minutes...insert the card and then the battery...turn it on. I don't hold out any hope that either of these resets will do much good if this is indeed a sensor problem. When you say the pictures are also dark, do you mean when you try to view them on the camera screen or when you download the pics to your computer. If they're ok on the computer, then the problem is your lcd screen.

Screen stays black when turned on in take picture/video mode

There is something wrong with the lens. Perhaps its obstructed by something or the lens doesn't really open @ all. Try cleaning the lens with lint free cloth if not. Follow the in-warranty repair process @ the website will ask you to troubleshoot first. Just keep following the website in the end if issue persist it will give you the page that you need to fill up so that you can send your camera and repair.
Note: After filling-up the information on the page and completing it wait for an e-mail from Kodak it will give you details how to send your camera for repair. It will also contain the address and phone number of the repair centre.

Dark circular spot on Ricoh R6 screen and images

There is a spec of dirt that made it inside the camera and has landed itself on your image sensor.

If you take a picture and the image has a spot on it, it could be the screen. If you transfer it to your computer and the spot is in the same spot, its something on the image sensor. You would have to send it out for cleaning, and a new camera would be cheaper.

V570 Dual Lens, will not switch to ordinary lens.

Hi, My V570 works fine on widescreen lens (the default on startup) but when I zoom up to switch to the other lens it goes to a dark blank screen and will take a similarly dark blank picture. I can hear the zoom activating as I click it so I think that is ok. I opened the camera

I can only suggest that you bang it around more, against your palm or other surface like hot pad, mouse pad, etc. that has some give and see if that undoes the damage (if it is a dis-connection issue). You didn't mention physically damaging it (as in dented) so soft blows and retrying the camera after each attempt may result in it working again. Try blows from different angles and speciffically from the opposite direction of the drop, if you know how it hit (a mark?).
It does sound like it is "hunting" for a sensor signal that it is not getting.

Black screen on LCD and in the eyepiece

Your camera is a reflex camera, it means what the lens you see If the displays are black it means that there's a block inside the lens, probably the inner mirrors are stuck. Try resetting the camera. Save the photos on the memory disk, disconnect whatever can be disconnect, get out the batteries, and let the camera rest for a day or two If the problem haven?t been solved and you don?t have the knowledge how to open the camera take it to fix, hope the insurance is still good. Good luck
