The status of my printer says error. How do i fix

insert the software cd, and brows the cd. there will be an UTIL folder inside the cd,inside util there is a ccc folder,and inside ccc folder we have uninstall L1.exe file.
unplug the printer usb cable first and then double click on the uninstallL1.exe. it will uninstall the basic driver from the computer and then restart the computer and printer.before that ple take out the cd.
then try to do an add a device by inserting the software cd of the printer.
