I plug the sandisk in to the computer & it

kindly go to control pannel and and see that removable media device is configured and also check the drivers for it in device manager to ensure that fault is not on sofware end ,if this does not show and green......then try changing the port you insert it into hopefully this will fix the issue else consult local hardware shop for recovery of the data in it
and also get it replace if under warranty
