Question about Garmin StreetPilot c550 GPS Receiver
Is there any master password or pin code?
If you can send it in to Garmin to have it unlocked, then there must be a "master" code. Since the USB port is dead until the unit is unlocked, Garmin must have to either enter in some special code or reset the unit in some special way.

You don't need to enter a PIN if you are at your security location (the location you set when you set the PIN). If you don't know the PIN or the security location, you'll have to send it in to get it unlocked.

SOURCE: forget pin code
The only way to unlock a PIN locked Garmin is to enter the correct PIN number (1111 won't work unless it is the correct PIN #), or take the unit to where the PIN was initially set. Why not ask your friend the PIN #? Your only other option is to send the unit to Garmin. There is no "master" PIN code.
