Malfunctioning monitor (BenQ)

posted by ephialties on Dec 30, 2007

the computer was playing a high resolution game with normal graphics (no problems had occured before) and the monitor crashed leaving the harddrive functioning while the monitor screen itself would not turn on properly. the screen with momentarily be active then will crash with 1-2 sec. the monitor is past its warranty with fairly constant use (2-3 yrs). i have tried all the non-user interface tecniques avaliable to me such as a total comp. reset, quick restart, 24 hr cooldown, etc..... the computer is designed to work in sychronisation with the harddrive so there are no compatabilty problems which should occur. any advice in which you could offer would be helpful! (through administrative system link it is shown that the graphics card and the frames per sec and working properly)

hi, first run the system in safe mode, if that works than u will have to look in for driver problems/settings, sometimes uninstalling the monitor & display driver then reinstalling it back will change the settings to default, try it, let me know
