Look from the rear for missing screws if not, pull off the inside bottom top plastic piece and look for the missing hinge screws

Both hinges on my PC have popped out and disconnected the screen from the keyboard. I don't know what to do. I've been trying to put them back in myself, but nothing is working. I've resorted...

I hear you... this is like the only thing that breaks on these A45's and its corporate brother - A40's: always starts from the left hinge and if you don't take care of it, the right hinge goes, too. These hinges are the hardest things to find in the world (it's the only part that breaks) I'd try eBay - you can probably get a whole, used machine (either an A40, or A45, and I'd prefer the WiFi ready models) with good hinges for $40 bucks or thereabouts, and put your hard drive, memory into the replacement machine and use it. Hope that makes sense.

Oh, and Toshiba no longer carry these parts so new ones are kinda out of the question.

Hi,
The hard drive is located under the laptop (near the front) with "disk" icons on it held down with a screw.
Remove the screw and get a thin flat headed screwdriver and gently pull the hard drive cover off, you may hear a couple of crunches but this is normal as it will be the securing tabs coming away.

Good luck.

Loose screen hinges

You can't. They're worn out and the way they're manufactured doesn't allow for a easy tightening unfortunately. I would pick up a new / used pair from ebay and then just swap them out.

Vertical Lines On Display

First, plug a external monitor and toggle the screen to discard configuration or software problems. If the image shows correctly you have either a problem in the LCD screen or its connection cable.
Open the cover and check for loose or damaged cables, specially next to the hinges. The next thing to check is a new LCD screen. You can have replacement parts and instructions here:
