Line, faults & possible causes to both Plasma &LCD screen are given with illustrations. You can get an idea about the fault to an extent.
Obviously geikalok is retarded and doesn't know the difference between a monitor and a printer.
You have a vary unusual symptom. What happens when you change the resolution of your computer to match what the monitor can do? It should be able to handle 1920 x 1200 so I doubt your resolution is too high. Unfortunately I think you may be having a problem with your main board, and there is also a slight chance your power board is going bad (which can sometimes cause some unusual symptoms). You first should check to make sure the unit is no longer under the 3 year warranty (if it is, go to viewsonic.com). You can open the unit up and check the power board for capacitors that are bad but that is unusual in this model, although the power board going bad from other causes is not unusual in this model. You can measure the power voltages on the power board, but if they are OK then most likely you will have to have the main board replaced. I would recommend contacting Viewsonic.
Check the color settings in the on-screen menu. You can choose between "Warm", "Cool" and "User". Maybe you used the "Warm" setting before and somehow it got changed to "Cool". If this is not the case, you can try the "User" mode and reduce the intensity of the blue channel. If even black areas show a blue tint, maybe running an auto configuration from the menu helps. As a last resort, use the "Reset" menu item which resets all settings to factory defaults.
If the screen went dark blue, this is the way that sets mute the video to protect the tube. However If the screen is very bright blue with possibly blue lines going through the screen, either the blue gun in the CRT has failed which is unusual but can happen or the driver transistor/IC which drives the blue gun has gone short circuit. If you know how to use a meter, you can perform a comparison check by comparing say the red O/P TX with the blue O/P TX. Ian
If you have blue strip running down vertically from top to bottom then normally there is a problem with LCD or a loose LCD cable. But what I recommend you to test more is tha,t if you tab at the back of your screen ...does this problem occur ???
Incase it does, then its a loose LCD cable problem. You still need
a qualified person who knows how to open the monitor to repair inside.
And again for the White screen it can also be both cases I mentioned above
