Have a Sanyo big screen tv but need need to adjust the color, to yellow!

Need to know if older set with picture tubes---turn color off--if yellow screen you have a loss of blue of some sort--red and green will give you a yellow screen. If set has the 3 picture tubes look inside in the lens to see if all 3 have a image---little or no blue means a problem there.

Picture settings

settings are not likely to resolve a "yellow" looking screen.

Go to an unused video input or turn color all the way off----the screen should be gray or black and white looking.

What this really suggests to me is a total or partial loss of blue--the set has a red, green, and blue picture tube---a loss of blue means red and green=yellow.

You can peek inside with the set on and see if all 3 lens for the tubes are lit equally bright.

Let me know what you find (press make comment on this page) and depending on what you find I may be able to suggest something to try)

Ghosting or a 3D image. A yellow and blue ghosting or shadowing image. Looks much like the top picture in the "picture ghosting image" entry. Is this a convergence problem?

Your convergence has failed and needs to be repaired. Once quick test is to goto your convergence menu and see if you can adjust red and blue. If not its has failed and needs to be fixed. You can call in a repair shop or you can get the parts and instructions from www.TvRepairKits.com and do the repair yourself. Its a fairly easy DIY fix.

Yellow, blue and green ghosting of picture. Convergence mode will not allow realignment of the red and blue lines

Hi,it sounds like a light engine problem.Lcd Technology uses 3 chips blue, green and red that create the image ,when they start to fail color discoloration will occur. If it's an Dlp pay attention to sounds of buzzing, whirling and high pitch sounds because it could be your colro wheel.

Red and blue ghosting,

The most likely cause is shorted convergence chips and possibly a few pico fuses.

These sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the picture to look normal. This is called convergence.

When its out of alignment the video will look 3-D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. Convergence problems are very common on all Projection TV sets including Sony,Samsung,JVC,Philip Magnavox,Panasonic,Akai,Pioneer2_bing.gif Hitachi,Mitsubishi,Zenith and others.
You can get a convergenece repair kit with instructions from the links below.

Here are some of the most common problems with these sets...

Problem #1) Convergence

Yours may have one or more of the following symptoms...

*Screen Looks 3-D
*Colors wont align
*Screen may look distorted or warped
*No Audio/Video - TV Shuts down - May also make a constant chirping sound

Problem #2
Another common problem is dull or washed out video.

Your set may have one or more of the following symptoms....

*Dull looking picture
*White looking picture
*Halos around objects
*Red/Orange looking picture
