Question about Canon PIXMA MP530 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

Vista incompatibility I have a new Dell laptop with Vista that is apparently incompatible with my Pixma MP530 setup CD-ROM. I've had the Pixma for over six months but never connected it to my old desktop. Can you send me a setup CD-ROM that I can uise with Vista?

I added more memory to my vista

Has the BIOS detected the additional memory or it has stayed the same?
Is the new RAM the same make as the other RAM module and speed?

To determine if the new RAM is OK, remove both RAM modules and insert only the new RAM module and see if the laptop boots up.
If it doesn't boot up then the RAM module is either faulty or incompatible with your laptop.
If it boots up then insert the other RAM module in the second memory slot. Check the BIOS to see if the RAM has increased. If not then the RAM modules are incompatible with each other. I suggest you look at the make of the original RAM module and purchase the second one from the same manufacturer.

Printer (922) won't install on new laptop

If your laptop is running Vista and your old desktop was running XP and the disk you got with your printer had drivers that worked with XP and Vista is not listed on them, it would be a case of incompatibility. You would need to go to the Dell website to download updated drivers for Vista if they are not of the standard Vista driver package. (The driver model changed between XP and Vista making XP drivers incompatible with Vista.)

Installing Problems

It's a hardware incompatibility with windows vista. for example your graphics card on your Inspiron might not be fully supported in windows vista and your Laptop's graphics card is supported by Vista. Most of the times we can find this incompatibility is with graphics cards. Download and install the newest drivers for your inspiron's graphics card. I have seen your inspiron has an ATI Radeon X1300 graphics card. The windows Vista drivers can be downloaded here http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=vista32/common-vista32

Windows vista incompatible

Unfortunately a lot of companies don't have drivers yet for their devices to allow them to work with Vista. The best thing to do is to check the manufacturers web site periodically to check if the have written a new driver for it yet.
