Question about Bissell 6590 CleanView Bagless Upright Vacuum

Bissell 8990 CleanView Bagless Upright - Loud noise

I was vacuuming up some Cheerios and dried peas my toddler had dropped on the floor when the vacuum started making a roaring noise. I cleaned the filters and hoses and replaced the belt, which did look a little stretched in one spot, but the noise just got lower rather than going away. The brush spins and there is still plenty of suction, but the noise is driving everyone crazy.
Any idea what the problem is?

Thanks! I'll start looking for repair places. $60 plus labor is still less than a new vacuum would cost, I guess=) I appreciate the info!

I have the same model and when in use the motor sounds like it is running really hard, is the motor about to do out?

When Vacuum is upright brush spins fine, when press on carpet it doesn't spin. Belt is new recently replaced.

Sounds like maybe your motor went bad, part # 2031052. Would sell for about $60. When the bearings go bad, they can be real loud as well if the fan on the motor when it gets damaged.

It is quite possible, it just needs lubed. The motor comes in direct contact with dirt so, you have to make sure the front bearing has a drop of oil on it from time to time. If it starts to scream at you within one month, after oiling, the bearing needs to be replaced.

The brushes are not designed to scub the floor, they only lightly touch the floor. Make sure the front nozzle is put on correcdtly. Make sure your filter is dry and clean. I wet filter will give poor suction down to the nozzel. Down load the manuel at Hoover.com. The model is located on the back of the unit. H3000, or H3010

Floormate Spinbrush

Not sure if this will help but these machines are ment to be used in one direction not back and forth like a vacuum cleaner. You should start in one spot and pull towards you slowly with the trigger depressed it is designed to spray scrub and pick up the solution all in one pass by going back and forth you are pushing the rubber across dry parts of the floor and it will make noises. If the filter bag is bad and didn't trap all of the dust, then it got into your motor, so you may have a problem with your motor now.

TROUBLE WITH MY SHAMPOOER

A rubber smell could be a belt and/or brush roll. But a loud roaring noise could only be from the motor, which would mean replacing it if that is the cause.
