Re: wireless linksys 2.4GHz not functioning

First do you have the driver for your laptop? or do you have any virus protection that may be preventing you from going on line. first disable your virus protection, and get the driver on line for your pc.good luck

I just got a new hp notebook. I have an ehterfas linksys router.

Make sure that the wireless switch is on (usually indicated by a blue light). Then go to control panel>network and sharing center>connect to a network>choose your network name>type in the security key if you have one and connect. Alternate method: Right click on the wireless icon on the system tray at the lower right hand where the time is and choose connect to a network, choose the network name and type the security key of your network then connect.

No internet access with wireless

First of all check the DSL cable must be in WAN port of the linksys router. if it is done then do the following.

Actually DSL modem and Linksys router are conflicting with their IP class. Means DSL and Linksys routers are using the same IP class of or

You must change one's IP class because both are routers and if they having same class they cant communicate. Unplug the WAN cable of the linksys. open browser and put ip or any one which works for u in the address bar. Username and password hopefully be admin admin or just admin and password blank field.
when you access the linksys router configuration page then come to LAN configuration. If there IP is then change it to and if it is then change it to Save configuration and reboot your laptop and plug dsl cable to linksys WAN port.
Hope now this will work.

Wireless internet connection

Hi there I would tell you why:
1) your DSL speed band only 1.5M and the upload could be lower then 256K speed. that is not avalible to get good condition for more laptop wireless online at same time
2) other thing, your laptop wieless online in your router situation that depends on the laptop wireless card type, high level (faster)card will get more speed band and aganst other laptop.
so you could not setting any more to get improved.
hope help you something fixed, please take a rating let me know how much helped you thanks! keep in touch your question

Built in wireless not working or showing up

Assuming that you have a Linksys wireless router, go to Start>Run then type '' and Enter. A logon window will appear. Use 'linksys' for the user name and 'admin' for the password. Now you should be looking at the Linksys configuration utility which will show your status. If you are using cable select DHCP for protocol, if DSL use PPPoE. good luck, Steve Medley

HP dv1000 laptop and internal wireless modem

Although you have internal wireless, you are capable of attaching an external wireless device. For example, you could attached a D-Link WUA-1340 USB Wireless G adapter (, or, if you have a PCI port, you can use a Linksys WPC300N Wireless-N Notebook adapter ( Either device with any brand will work just like your internal wireless. In fact, because you chose to use an external device, you may get a better wireless signal. Because internal wireless devices are inside the computer, it is more difficult to received a signal than with an external device.
