I used to do phone support for ipod's and a whole unit replacement would be around $150. If you want to do this, give Apple a call 800-APL-CARE

How to get rid of the crack on my ipod?

Phone repair shops can replace the screen. But it will cost. Knowing Apple is lowering the price for the new iPod Touch, I think you should try to fine out what a repair will cost and then decide to a repair or buy a new one.
You also could visit, because they show how to repair yourself. They also know what a new screen will cost and sell tools and spare parts if you need so.

Verbatim 1tb external hard drive turning on

Make sure the appropriate drivers are up to date:
Try different ports on your machine, reboot your machine, try connecting it to a different computer if possible.

Type in diskmgmt.msc into the search bar, and see if the drive shows up here at all. If it shows up, but doesn't have a drive letter right click and use the assign drive letter option.
Contact verbatim for a replacement cable.

I have problem with internal 2,5" Hitachi Hardrive 60G SATA,no spin. Can'nt it be repaired?

Repairing a disk drive is not cost effective. If you have valuable information on the disk that needs recovered, there are services that will do it but they are EXPENSIVE!
Best bet is to just buy a new disk or new computer.

My IPod reboots continuously, what's wrong and how do I fix it? It gets to the Apple logo, then reboots. I tried iPod built-in diagnostics, disk mode works, and draining the battery has no effect after...

It sounds like it is the Hard Drive itself. It could have taken a tumble and been damaged. Try syncing the IPod to the computer and resetting it back to factory settings. If it does not work I would recommend either getting the hard drive replaced or buying a new one. Whatever is more cost effective. I hope this helps.

The hard drive fell off the desk. The light comes on and I can hear the motor trying to do something, but eventually it stops and does nothing. It does not show up on any computer.

im sorry to say but your harddrive is toast!
dropping any hardrive from a height is very bad for them as you can stuff the internal drive motor and the sensitive magnetic read heads!

you won't be able to recover any data stored on it!
sorry for the bad news!
buy a new one!
hope this helps,ben

I think that your disk-drive is "SLIGHTLY" dead. :-(

Disassemble the enclosure.

Get the model-number and serial-number from the label on the disk-drive.

Access Maxtor's web-site, and check the warranty-status of the disk.

If the warranty still is valid, Maxtor will replace the disk-drive, at minimal cost to you.

If the warranty has ended, buy a new, compatible, disk-drive, and install it into the enclosure, to "reconstitute" your external storage-device.

30 GB iPod video restore problem

It sounds as if the hard drive is in a state that doesn't allow it to be properly used. This would explain why the iPod tells you it is corrupted and why iTunes fails to restore it properly. Does the iPod make a clicking noise when you try to turn it on? Try holding the backplate up to your ear to help you be able to hear it. If it does, that means the armitures in the hard drive are misaligned and can not properly read the hard drive platters (circular platforms that hold the data). This can be caused by dropping the iPod or excessive movement (such as a pocket, etc.) What you can try to do to fix it is holding the iPod in one hand, and making a fist with the other, and hit the side of the iPod a few times with some force but not enough to break it. If all goes as planned, this should knock the armitures back into place so that the hard drive can function properly again. If this doesn't work, you'll need to replace the hard drive in your iPod. For the price this would cost, you may want to consider just buying a new iPod. This method has maybe a 60% success rate; I used to repair iPods as a hobby with a little extra income and this is what I attempted with all hard drive issues.
