D50 not taking pictures

I am a novice. I left my d50 in the car, and it had a little condensation on the lens. So, I rmoved the lens and wiped it off. then, replaced it and now, the shutter sounds different and it will not take pictures. One thing I did do was push the shutter while the lens was off. HELP please.

Re: d50 not taking pictures

Okay this is how i fixed mine. take the lense off and hit the button to take a picture the shudder should snap down up down or something like that

or lift up the shudder and see at the very back there should be a little black almost curtan like thing. make sure there are no bends or breaks or bubbles the curtan things.
hopes this helped

Re: d50 not taking pictures

Not experienced on this but if not taking pictures it could be the `mirror ` is not moving have you tried taking off the lense again and re fitting, you may not have fitted properly.
My own opinion is that pushing the shutter shouldnt cause a problem. Do the white dots line up?
Wish I could be of more help.

Nikon d50 camera will not turn on. Batteries are fully charged. Camera has not been exposed to extreme hot or cold Camera has not been exposed to water or other liquids

Does the readout come on at all with a card in it (no. of exposures left)? Try cleaning the contacts on the battery with an eraser and wipe down with alcohol wipe.

Mark on photos - dirt on sensor?

It is possible and quite easy to clean the sensor yourself with a little preparation. First, Google the an slr sensor. You will find sites that will explain the procedure in detail with pictures. You will also find out what materials you will need to purchase. Get these and have no fear!!! You can do this.

D50 reads f-- and wont take pictures

What lens? Either you have a non-CPU lens which requires that you use it in Manual (M) mode, or it's a CPU lens and the contacts aren't engaged properly. Remove the lens, clean the contacts, reattach the lens, and jiggle it a little to seat the contacts.

Nikon D50 Set Problem - Won't Take Pictures

The F-- error means that the lens is not communicating or has lost communication, with the body. I would first try cleaning the contacts on the lens and body. You might also try another lens. This problem has been known to develop when using a heavier, large lens. It seems like you have had the unit for a number of years. Has this always been an issue?
Hope that helps,

No picture in the image screen

I suspect that you're looking for a "live view", like in the point & shoot cameras. Most DSLRs (like the Nikon D50) don't have live view. In other words, in order to see the picture you must take it first.

Won't Take Picture Sometimes

I have the same problem with my D50. I believe it is caused by poor electrical contact between camera and lens. The contacts may be dirty but I have tried cleaning them and I still get the same error. Moving the lens often solves the problem. This led me to suspect that it is due to slight wear of the plastic mounting bayonet on the lens. This allows the lens to fall slightly and disengage from the contact pins. My 70-300mm lens has no problems since it only uses a few pins.
