Green screen on tv

Our Tv is now predominately green in color. I have tried to balance it with the remote but it does not seem to help. We purchased it in 2002.
Thank you

Re: green screen on tv

Grayscale. Could be in the Screen trimpots of the focus block as well.

Need an ISF calibration and/or rebalancing of the Screen trimpots.

Doing the adjustment is not actually a fix, all that does is change the drive amount of the green CRT which allows the set to work but the 3 CRts will be out of balance so picture color will be affected. The only way to repair a bad CRT is to replace the CRT itself. You can get replacement Green CRT from

Poor picture quality

Hello Paul. I have this same monitor, but rebranded, Access the service menu with the remote control:

With user’s RC
1. Power TV On
2. Press Menu button and call up User OSD Menu
3. Select Sound-> Balance
4. When Balance value is “0”,Enter 0->5->3 ->2 in sequence.
Note: If necessary, re-do number keys.
5. Factory OSD appears.
6. Press the standby button then AC turn off and restart the TV, which can exit factory
OSD menu.

Now you will be able to change the values for Red Green and Blue channels. I also hated this TV, but after adjusting the colors it's looking great! Hope you could fix it too! :)

i dont think it the color wheel - to make it green the glass would of come off and the tv would be vibrating badly. to check pull the lamp out and with a flash light look at the color wheel -
you most likely got a surge that glitched the eeprom - you will need the service remote to adj the white balance

Bad color

Turn the color level all the way down and see if you have a good black and white picture. If your screen isnt black and white it should have a predominate tint to it. then turn the screen control for that color down to achieve the best black and white picture. then adjust your color level that should help.

Green picture

I'm not sure about this model but most projection tv's have a focus/screen control block usually located behind the front grille where the speakers are. The grille usually comes off easily. If there are no circuit problems you can adjust the red green and blue picture tubes there. Also the focus. It will be written somewhere screen and focus: Three for screen and three for focus. If you find the screens then adjust them slowly clockwise for increase brightness on the red and blue and you may have to reduce the green. Adjust for best picture. If the picture does not adjust too good then the tubes are weak. Only if there are no circuit problems Hope this helps

Hitachi 52 projection tv

use the advanced options page and reset the factor blue and red convergence defaults then do re apply the auto color defaults color at first it seemed very red (which is good because red was the missing factor in the green picture) but after reseting all the color and tints to the normal ranges I then reset the color auto correct again and all seems fine.
