My Dell Inspiron 1526 won't restore after hibernation.
After a recent Vista update the laptop was placed in hibernation mode before the normal 'restart to complete update' process. After a minute or so i press a button expecting to see a logon screen, instead the monitor was off, blank screen with no power. I presss every button but nothing happened. After a restart the monitor remains off but i can still hear 1526 checking the cd drive. I restarted several times trying the Fn+F8 option with an external monitor and pressing the up button while holding Fn but still the same.
1526 appear to be in a wierd state because i placed a XP boot cd and restart then hit Enter several times. If the backlight or inverter was the only problem then 1526 would boot from the cd as normal though i wouldn't be able to see. It doesn't, it simply power up, checks the cd drive then does nothing.
The multimedia buttons lights up when i press them and the fan is on.
I don't have the warranty paperworks.
How can i fix it?

- Thanx Dageezer
Only the numlock LED light flashes while caplock, power and another remains lit.
I'll look into 'no POST state'. What is the proper Google search query?
The warranty is expired.

- Thanx again Dageezer.
Here is my FN+ON diagnostic code:
[IMG]http://dsnimg.dell.com/images/external/images/Portables/M07%20CPU%20error%20flash.gif[/IMG]
Description:
The Microcontroller is handing control of the system to the processor. This code will persist if there is no processor detected.
Action That May Be Necessary:
1. Reseating the processor.
2. Replacing the system board.
3. Replacing the processor.
Did 1. already. I'm off to 3.
All in all, it's most likely 2.
and no paperwork is needed to get warranty support, all you need is the express service code on the bottom and be a authorized user of the system.

- No POST is a term that indicates the system is not successfully completing the POWER ON SELF TEST. Troubleshooting is as follows:
Remove all Drives, RAM, Wireless Cards and the Battery. Power on the system, see if anything changes, if indications change, install 1 RAM module, and see if the system will post, if it does add items back till you ID the failed componet.
If there is no change, then replace the motherboard.

I have a Toshiba Satellite L355-S7907. I have been using a wireless mouse for a week now. All of a sudden today it does not work. The light doesn't even come on and it keeps saying the device is not recognized even after I unplug it from the UBS Port. I am using Windows Vista and I tried everything. System Restore, rebooting, taking it out and replugging it in, uninstalling the device and it still doesn't work! I am getting really irritated because I know it's not the mouse because it works on my brothers laptop. Can someone help me?!!!!
