Question about Microwave Ovens

Humidity sensor My microwave gives me a humidty sensor error, specifically "open humidity sensor". How can I fix the problem? Thank you

    What I'm looking for is how to find the sensor and check it out. I've looked for schematics online but no luck so far. Thanks anyway.

Replace the humidity sensor. is it a GE?

    oh, ok. take the cover off of the microwave. and the schematics should be in an envelope under the case. the sensor has like a wire mesh head on it. if you open the door on the microwave and look at the top you should see a bunch of small holes usually left of center. directly above it is the humidity sensor but usually you have to take the case off of the microwave to get to it. on some microwaves u can take the plastic piece off of the top front that looks like louvers and get to it

F4 or f5 on board if i unplug it and reset clock turnit on it runs for 2 or 3 sconds the display starts to blink it shuts off and you need to unplug and start over sometimes it will work

When trying to Popcorn the touch pad is dead and comes up on the display F4?


Its you humidity sensor causing the code:
F4 - Open humidity sensor, will occur if humidity sensor is detected as being open continuously over 5 seconds, it says to replace the sensor.

I continue to get a message on the little screen that says "F-4" Then it continually beeps day and night! The only way I can stop it is to start the microwave cooking, then open the door to pause...

F4 means Open humidity sensor, will occur if humidity sensor is detected as being open continuously over 5 seconds it says to replace the sensor.

Microwave exaust fan starts on its own


There's a humidity sensor in this microwave oven that turns on the fan automatically if it senses an excess amount of humidity (steam from cooking for example) to possibly protect humidity or moisture from building up inside the unit.
