An error comes up on my rioch sp5100n as mm-allocblk.c 30 8 rip, what could be the cause of this?

This is a memory allocation routine that runs on an ARM7 processor used in embedded systems. The manufacturer likely used this code to manage the system memory. The machine has experienced some type of memory failure most likely and as it tries to allocate some space it runs into a hardware failure. I have the same error on a Samsung printer that recently popped up. Evidently the MM_AllocBlk.c is common code in embedded system. Doesn't helpo either of us! I am sending my printer back to the manufacturer at 36 days old.

Fat alloc error

> FAT ALLOC ERROR

FAT == File Allocation Table (like a 'Table of Contents' in a printed book)

ALLOC == Allocation

ERROR == ERROR

Some of the contents of that 'Table of Contents' are invalid.

So, copy all the files from the Memory Card onto your computer, to save a copy of those files.

Burn a CD/DVD disk with a copy of those files.

Then, "reformat" the Memory Card, to write a "new" and "empty" 'Table of Contents' onto the device.
Then, copy all the files back onto the Memory Card.

I get a memory load error r somthin it is some letters pop up wen it do it

This error occured when you have two program having same memory allocation table like running two antivirus.
Check for such program.

And if you can have access to one more physical RAM ,try changing the RAM and check out.It could be Physical RAM error too which is very very rare.

Hi rnb brother,

It sounds like you may need to udate you BIOS. It may be a memory allocation issue. This is an issue when the accessed/pointed memory allocation does not totally close, allowing a little bit of info out to disrupt normal operation. BIOS is closely related to access/pointed memory allocation and upon udating will close this path competely. I hope this helped a little, if not, hit me back, we have other options i.e. running dual cards.

Thank you for using FixYa.com
