Question about LG VX8100 Cellular Phone
I would rub a piece of metal where you plug the charger in on the bottom. A paper clip seems to work well. This will reset the phone and should be ok. It worked for me when my phone got wet and was stuck in car kit mode.

The paperclip trick does work, but to be more specific, you want to play with the last 2 prongs on the right side with the outer screen facing up... It seems that what is causing the issue is that sometimes when you plug in the charger it causes those prongs to get a little bent and touch one another. When you adjust them, you break the contact and that's what fixes the issue. If you can't get it right away, keep trying, it will work! Good luck folks!!!

I have a LG VX 5200 but this problem seems to be on many phones. The solution I found is: I tried the other suggestions I found on this sight with negitive results. So I carefully took the back off the phone by removing the 5 small screws and pried the back off. I found a few grains of sand stuck in the contacts were the car plugin connects to the printed circuit board. I brushed them away and blew the phone out with compressed air. Put the phone back together and it worked. To me this was a very easy fix but for some it may be challenging. Don't break the phone when taking it apart. Good luck.
