Where do i find the port to plug in my usb for my ipod?

behind the unit where the connection wires are, is a black cable that has a usb plug in the end of it. although to play ipods in the unit, pioneer recommend using the CD-iU50 adapter cable. a normal ipod cable may work with certain ipods so i would try that first. I am pretty certain that it just wont charge certain ones. if you bought the unit new it should have had a usb extender cable included in the box.
to access the cable you will need to remove the source unit to plug in your ipod cable.
i hope i have helped you and please dont forget to rate.

My flip face sony cd player wont do anything, but still plays, sounds tooo high help

A common problem with flip face headunits is the flexible cable that connects the face to the main unit develops a hairline fracture through the cable after a while and disconnects 1 or more conductors. this can have the effect you are experiencing. try gently pressing on the cable and see if any functions return

Alot, of the radios have a common problem with the connection from the radio's detachable face. What happens is corrosion builds up on the connectors between the pin and the connector itself. Sometimes you can clean it off with a small file. Also, some KENWOODS with the motorized face are known to have a problem with the ribbon cable connecting the face plate to the main board. The last time I repaired one I called KENWOOD and aquired the cable for about 65 dollars, what the problem is, is the cable is wrapped around a plastic white spindel with a high tension spring and places alot of pressure on the cable from the wear and tear of the face opening and it will cause strange problems such as: turning on and off, some buttons working while others don't, and the display partially turning on and off.

Power problem with my KDC-M7024

The part number for that cable is

This other cable going from the other display to the main board should also be replaced at the same time.

You can verify the part number by looking right on the cable, it is on the very end of the cable on the part that overlaps the connector the cable plugs into.

Only places i know that sell them are authorized kenwood servie centers. There should be one in your area.

please give me a "fixya" if this helps.

The Unit is getting Power, but the Head Unit, which flips forward is not. I think that the connection between the two needs to be cleaned, so does anyone know how to disconnect the head unit from the base...

there are two screws on left and right of display on the arms that it flips . take them out and you can slip it off now the ribbon is probably bad so dont be suprised if it tears when you try to remove it . they are such a tight fit i doubt if the connection is dirty they break from the constant bending ..

Display totally gone.

I'm not sure if your unit is a flip face, but if it is then the first thing I would suspect would be the ribbon cable that connects the flip face to the main circuit board. Hope this helps.

Display problems

The ribbon cable is a VERY common problem on these units. Mine went out and I picked up a replacement cable on ebay for under $20. If you are at all mechanically inclined, you can replace it yourself fairly easily. It is a little scary to look at your stereo in a bunch of pieces on the table, but is really an easy fix. Take the flip-face off of the main unit and you will see the ribbon that connects it to the main box. You will need to take the face place apart (it comes into 3 pieces, the front back and middle). When you see where the ribbon connects inside the face, pull back the little clips on the side and slide that end of the cable out. Mine did not look broken, but replacing it fixed the problem. Take the top off of the main unit, and unscrew the disk drive. Once unscrewed it will lift right out (it is plugged in on the bottom so just pull straight up until it comes free). Once you have that out of the way you will see the ribbon. This end is a little trickier. It is wound around a little spring that lets it in and out as the face moves. Look carefully at how it winds through the spring - you will need to put the new one in the same way. (it may help to take a pic of it to reference when you put the new one in) Unclip this end of the ribbon like you did the first. The new one needs to go into the main unit first. Install this the same way you removed the old one, around the spring, and through the slot that will connect it to the faceplate. Connect the other end to the face, then put the face back together and reconnect it to the unit. Replace the disk drive and the top of the unit, and you are done. Its pretty self explanitory when you are doing it, just take it apart till you see the ribbon, then put it back together the way it came apart. It's fairly easy, but be honest with yourself. If you are not good at mechanical issues, have someone help you. Good luck!

Kenwood kdc-322 faceplate problem?

I found my Kenwood KDC322 faceplate doing the same thing(cutting out) I cleaned the contact points on this 'ribbon' behind the faceplate by rubbing the discoloration off with a pencil eraser. The lights have not cut out again.

Error 10 message on display screen

Same issue but pressing Power and SEL would not reset unit. Found solution. Once again disconnected the car battery. Removed the face unit from the radio base and then reconnected the battery. Replacing the face unit AFTER the power was re-established solved the issue. (Probably pulling the radio fuse rather than toying with the battery connection would have done the same thing.)

Face Plate

If this is a "flip face" type of display then you may have a broken lead in the ribbon cable that connects to the main board from the flip face. This is a very common problem. You'll need to replace that ribbon cable.
