Re: Not draining

The drain pump is separate from the was motor and is accesed from underneath the dishwasher that help wash moter is one piece and is replaced as a whole unit and the drain hose comes from the factory making a loop up side the tub a lot of installers cut the ties holding the loop to get more drain line if loop is removed will loose its prime and stop draining or drain some times and not others when you first start the dish washers it drains then fills so you should hear the drain pump rum if something isnt jamming it

Water drains back into dishwasher from sink or disposal

You've got a broken piece of glass or something holding the drain valve open.
Solenoid operates the valve to drain water from dishwasher into drain line.
When power shuts off to solenoid...valve closes.
If valve is blocked by a piece of glass or toothpick or a sliver of can't close and draining water from disposal or sink can back flow into dishwasher.

I had a piece of glass caught in mine.

Hope this helps...

Water staying in the bottom of the dishwasher.

WEll, there always needs to be some water remaining, but, you may have a blocked drain system, this means hoses, connections, screens. Needs to be taken apart and inspected to find.

The problem is most likely that the pump empeller had been damage by pieces from a broken dish or a small piece of siverware. The only way to fix this is to take the dishwasher apart and replace the empeller. If you choose to do this yourself, you should go to the manufactures web site to see if you can download instructions on how.

Water pooling up in bottom of dishwasher

is there any way to run the cycle from the beginning and listen to hear if the machine is draining at all when the cycle starts do you hear the water spraying on the inside ? if not then you have several different possibilities....clogged drain line, pump impeller broken(sounds like running but no action), water just flowing back to washer the last one's an easy fix just loop the excess drain hose up like a reverse "p" trap on a kitchen sink drain this keeps the water from flowing back to the machine

My Kenmore Elite UtraWash Dishwasher won't drain completely. We have checked the hoses (water supply and drain connected to the disposal) - both are free of obstructions. We have taken the whole thing...

I have the same problem. The part you're talking about can be released from under the dishwasher to clean it. has useful diagrams. I cleaned everything but still have the problem which is caused either by the "check balls", the "check valve" or the "pressure check" thing. I still have to figure it out. A good way to know if the system is obstructed is to press the drain button when there is some water left in the bottom.

Dishwasher did not drain all the water

Your sink drain is clogged and the back pressure is not allowing the dishwasher to drain competely. Do not use a liquide drain cleaner, it will damage your disposal. take apart p-trap hopefully the clog is there, otherwise the line will need to be snaked.
