Peripheral's Connex2Car adapter to an Alpine CDA-9851

I have tried everything... After connecting the adapter to the A-inet input of the Alpine deck and to my i-pod, very little sound is coming through to the speakers. I have tried adjusting the aux input settings and nothing seems to work. If anyone has experience in installing these please share the wealth. Thanks

The alpine should recognize it as a "changer" when you select the source; ie: radio, CD, changer. Sounds simple, but have you turned up the volume on the iPod?
The Alpine adapter is $100, but works great, you can totally control all your iPods functions, and it displays all song info on the Alpine decks display.

I have my ipod hooked up to the rca's in the back of the radio but there is very little volume. nothing i do seems to help. i have the aux on but still barely any sound comes out. am i doing something...

Hi, the RCAs in the back are usually outputs, not inputs. The specs on this unit indicate that AUX input is optional. Are the jacks you're using marked AUX input? If yes, what kind of cable are you using to adapt the iPod to the RCAs? If no, you may need to buy an adapter. There is one here:
I got this link from the spec sheet here:

I got a Alpine cda-9851 cd player today. I popped the face plate off to see where the cd goes in, but theres not a slot for it! Do i have to have a 6 disk changer for it?

this is a motorized deck. just press the eject button and it should open. the eject button should be on the lower right hand corner of the face.

Connecting mp3 player other than ipod to cda 9851

CLICK HERE for your owners manual in PDF format.

Please see Page 19 on how to toggle ON the AUX IN function on the radio

A KCA-121B (alpine bus to RCA) adapter is required.
AI-3NPUT (alpine bus to Female 3.5mm) adapter is required.

There is no alternate INPUT on the rear of this radio - an adapter is required... converting the changer port to an input.

Playing external sources

you have to switch your decks source to AUX and it should work fine. If not you may have a bum player with a bad input.

How to install an alpine cda 9851

you go to a stereo shop..(walmart autozone etc should also do) buy a mounting kit and a wire harness adapter. The wire colors on the adapter match the wire colors of most aftermarket decks. MAtch the wire colors and connect...make sure to tape wires well as if they touch you rick damage to your deck.. install the mount kit plug in your cd player and slide it in and you are good to go..
