Question about Sony PlayStation 2 (PS2) Console
Well, I can tell you it is highly unlikely that your new T.V. Is the opportunity in this case. It might be one of the following things:
1. The video port of your PS2 might be bad.
2. The video card of you PS2 is going dead.
3. The cable you are using is bad.
4. Your hooking up the cables wrong.
5. Your T.V. Is on the wrong setting.
Hope this helps!!

Hi.even i had the same problem. the problem is with your tv set and not with your ps2.
it will be the same old ntsc problem.even i had the same problem.the problem is that your tv set is old .
the older tv sets had only pal support and hence it can play only in black and white.you can try buyin a ntsc to pal converter if your ps2 is a ntsc model or the pal to ntsc converter over the net.it pretty cheap.
if it doesnt help then the ultimate way is to buy a new tv set.

Save hours of searching online or wasting money on unnecessary repairs by talking to a 6YA Expert who can help you resolve this issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
Here's a link to this great service

If it will play DVD's this is a good sign. You will only need to clean the lens of the laser. Also clean the hub that the Disc rides on.
I hope your in the right posting area, this is for the Phat PS2 consoles with the drawer that comes out to put the CD in. Procedure is different for Slim PS2.

SOURCE: PS2 in black & white?
Hello Staubs, please look at the back side. There should be a sticker with the model (for example SCPH3XXXX). So please, which model is it? Thank you, Arpad

Make sure that you have the plugs in the correct sockets on the back of the television , as well as make sure the tv is on the correct setting, NTSC, PAL, SECAM, etc. Good luck.
