Question about Logitech 250 Headset

1 Answer

Annoying Static My NEW 250 headset has this constant static that interferes with the sound. It also messes with the microphone as I discovered in Team Fortress 2. I tried seeing if the headset works on another computer and it most certainly does. Anyone know whats up?

Re: Annoying Static

Thats crazy, I use the same headset and mine started acting up yesterday while playing TF2. It might have something to do with the game!

How do I get rid of the static sound in my 4PR908?

There causes varies from types of headset to another. In respect of a wireless headset, the static sound is caused by interference. Whereas in a cord headset, a loose wire somewhere in your headset or cord is responsible for the static sound or crackle. It might also emanate from the mic in respect of a one calling, or from the ear-piece.

The solution with a wireless headset is to move away from any device e.g computer which might have cause the static sound. Resetting the wireless headset is also a solution measure.

In the case of a cord headset; Get the cord wiggled at the plug and at the headset; and then move the mic to locate the loose connection. Where the problem occurs, loop the wire, taping it down at the point. soldering the affected wire is best than taping.

Finally, if the static sound persist;which it should not after all the treatments; check on the volume of the device. Reduction of the device volume can go a long way to bringing the longed solution. Similar problem occured with my headset;and was solved via the same recommended possibility.

I have a motorola h710 and i can hear everybody else just fine but all they hear from me is static noise.

Sounds like the wirevto the microphone has crimped and shorted out from swinging the boom open and shut. I had the same model, and the same thing happened to mine. I opened the unit up, and tried to solder the wire where it crimped and broke, to no avail. Not only was it an unsuccessful attempt, but then once I tried to put the plastic boom back together, it just wouldn't hold! Unfortunately, it sounds like you're going to need a new headset. Wish I had better news for you.

I have life chat lx-3000 headset that was working fine. I use these on gamer vent server. Recently other players were unable to hear and mentioned they heard static then not me. I recently updated my sound...

My guess it's something in the cabling of this device I think it is cheaper to buy a new headset with the same quality. I think that that best solves your problem.

When ever im playing and using the mic after a while what happens is that everyone goes like "AHHHH STATIC DUDE!" so after i use it for like 2-5 min it turns static unless i replug it then it goes back to...

Get a smidge of moly grease and rub in on your mic plug, then insert it into the jack. All static will be all gone. Insert and remove a few times if you have to, until the static stops.

When i turn the volume up or down i get a static noise, and when I try to use the microphone i get no response. I know the sound is working because i can hear music with static, but the microphone doesn't...

The static noise may be caused by dust! To clean it out spray some Servisol video 40 into the volume control and move it up and down. If it goes away it was just dust.
The mic is another thing. The only thing I can think off ist that it's got switched off somehow on your laptop. Or either the control panel slider for microphone input is set to low?

You can get Servisol from Radioshack USA or Maplin UK or that type of shop.

People can hear background noises on my PC but not my voice

Perform some simple steps as follows.

1. Double click on the volume control icon in the system tray, that is on the right hand bottom side of the screen. Check if the microphone is muted.

2. Right click on the same icon, and select "adjust audio properties." You will now get a window that says Sounds and Audio Devices Properties. Click on the tab named voice on top of that window, and check what is selected as the voice recording device. Check in the drop down menu to change the device and use the "test hardware" option to test the mic.

3. Make sure your microphone is working fine. Other people are not hearing your music from your microphone, but from your system itself.

Cannot use microphone.

Hi I have had a similar problem with a Mic, too things to try , first try it on a different appliance to rule out the appliance you are using, if it still doesn't work then it's most likely a short somewhere, tough to repair but worth a shot if you have the patience.

Hope this helps.
