Okay...my psp is brand new and i am confused about how to load music on it. I can load albums on it but when i attempt to load the tracks, i go back to my psp and it says i havent loaded any tracks on it...so ...HELP ME!!! I NEED MY MUSIC!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!...thanks-meg
Hehheh... Okay, Make sure you're downloading them into the music folder on your memory stick. (You may have to create a folder that says "Music". The instructions manual tells you everything.)
Another problem is: This is a pic of the instructions manual. It shows that you cannot save music within a folder inside another folder. When the PSP tries to read music, it searches in the "Music" folder. If there is another folder within the "Music" folder with music in it, the PSP can play it. But, if there is a folder in another folder, the PSP cannot find it and says there is no music. (That is really hard to explain!) Look at the picture and you'll get it. ^-^; If there are any questions you want to ask, please do!

Step 1. Connect your PSP to your computer using a USB leab.
Step 2. Goto settings on your PSP and select USB connection
Step 3. Look in "My computer" on your PC or laptop and your PSP will be listed as another drive.
Step 4. Double click the PSP drive (usually E:) and then right click on the window that opens and select "New Folder". Call this new folder "Music"
Step 5. Drag all your MP3 files into this new music folder you created.
Step 6. Press "O" on your PSP to exit USB connection.
Step 7. Select the music menu then scroll down to Memory stick. All your music should be in that folder.
You need to add it ot the MUSIC folder on the memory card. So when you copy to the card make sure its in the music folder and you should be okay. if its out of that folder then the system cannot find it.
let me know ether way.

go to SETTINGS; then to NETWORK UPDATE, run this and it will update your psp to the newest firmware, maybe fixing any errors in the current firmware. Please let me know if this helps. You also must format your stick to the new firmware, just format once you have updated!
You have to use a program to convert the files to something the PSP can read, simply changing the file extension will only confuse the device trying to read it. Try using a free program to convert your music files to a psp format such as mp3. IMTOOPSP free download should be able to assist you with that.
If I remember correctly, you have to hook up your psp to the computer, then go to My Computer and click on it. There should be a number of files, one of which is "Music", You then make a new folder with the name of the artist and put the music in there. That should do it, but I havent had a psp in a while so my info might be a little off. But, I did find this video on YouTube, so it should help.
All music placed on the PSP's memory stick must be placed in the folder labeled "MUSIC". Within this folder, you may place .mp3 or .wma files, or create another folder within the MUSIC folder (to separate by artist or album, for example).
Note that the music must be in either the folder MUSIC or in a folder inside MUSIC. In other words, you can't have the music in a folder that's in a folder that's in MUSIC.
