I can not install my Belkin F5d7632-4 V3000 to my macbook

I can not install my Belkin F5d7632-4 V3000 to my macbook. I've installed routers to pc's before but never a wireless router, and never to a macbook. I've connected the router to the macbook with a cable and it still doesn't see it, but when I plug the macbook directly to the modem it works fine. Any help?

Who is your Internet service provider.
You said that you are able to go online when connected the modem to the computer. So that is a good sign.
you will need to check the settings of the router.
