Seems like some type of control board problem.

Seems like some type of control board problem. Remote will not work on tv, but works other devices. Manual controls are squirelly. Cannot change inputs. Can move to other inputs on menu but when I hit enter, will not change to the selected input. Tried manual volume control and would not work. Then when I stopped trying, the volume increased to max without pressing any control. Turned volume down manually, but it returned to max on it's own. Unplugged set and left off for 5 minutes to see if the brains would reset, but when I plugged it back in, condition was the same. Sounds like a control board if this set has one. What do you think?

Thats a bad button on the front keypad of the tv . The remote does not work because the tv micro sees a button pressed all the time and never listens to the IR reciever . If you pull the front speaker grill off you will find connector ZF just below the keypad or just inside the access panel. If you do remove that panel don't touch anything else.Just follow the wires down from the keypad to connector ZF. Connector ZF is inline with the wires to the front keypad. Unplug it . Then remote will work like normal. Use it like that or have the front keypad buttons replaced.
