While installing xp sp3. Error message: file missing check i333

Are you sure i333 is not actually i386? The i386 folder contains all the files Windows uses to install XP. If you have XP installed already and it is asking for the i386 folder, it wants you to put the original Windows XP folder into your CD drive. If you are attempting to install Windows XP with SP3, there is something wrong with your CD. To avoid this problem in the past you can do this:
Copy Windows XP Installation Files to Local Hard Disk SourcePath Raymond CC

Dell Inspiron 6000 system error

To resolve this problem, follow these steps:
  1. Insert the Windows XP disk in the CD drive or DVD drive on the computer. Press and hold down the SHIFT key as you insert the disk to prevent the Windows XP installation from automatically starting.
  2. Click Start, click Run, type the following command, and then click OK:expand CD drive:\i386\ntdsapi.dl_ %SystemRoot%\windows\system32\ntdsapi.dll
    Notes
    • Make sure that there is a character space between "ntdsapi.dl_" and "%SystemRoot%."
    • CD drive represents the drive letter of the CD drive or DVD drive that contains the Windows XP disk. For example, if the letter of the CD drive or DVD drive is E, type the following, and then click OK:expand E:\i386\ntdsapi.dl_ %SystemRoot%\windows\system32\ntdsapi.dll
  3. Click Start, click Run, type cmd, and then click OK.
  4. At the command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:xcopy c:\windows\servicepackfiles\i386\ntdsapi.dll c:\windows\system32

Trying to install HP c4280 printer to Dell OPTIPLEX GX620 computer w/ XP PRO. Asking for sRCB.ICM from XP CD ROM Can not locate the sRGB file. Suggestions???

The file might be located on the Dell system disk.
You can also look in c:\windows\system, c:\windows\inf, c:\windows\system32, or in the I386 directory which may be directly under c:\windows
I checked some sources and saw this problem listed only twice--once for Win98.
The name of the file you are looking for is probably SRGB..ICM. I found it on my Win XP system here: C:\windows\Driver Cache\I386\driver.cab

I am installing a recovery disk for an emachines computer and i get error message stating that the system 32hal.dll is missing or corrupt. i cant get back to the windows screen to install the missing file...

You have to start your PC with the XP cd-rom install disk, if you have
one.

Then, when you come to the screen with the following option displayed :

To repair a Windows XP installation using
Recovery Console, press R.

Then press [R] to start 'Recovery Console'

When confronted by a prompt asking you for Administrator password - just
press [ENTER]

Once in RC has started - type the following command :

expand x:\i386\hal.dl_ c:\windows\system32\hal.dll

(where [x:] is your cd drive-letter)

*NB If SP3 is installed - then the command you type must be :

copy c:\windows\ServicePackFiles\i386\hal.dll c:\windows\system32

....instead, as the files are of two different revision levels
(versions).

Then reboot.
