Question about JVC RX-D301S Receiver

1 Answer

Setup configuration's what I've got and what I would like to do... DELL W4200 plasma tv, jvc rx-d301s receiver, Scientific America 8300 HCD cable box, and a Panasonic DMR-EZ17 DVD recorder.  I also have a vcr I would like to hook up. I have the dvd cabled to the cable box so I can record from any channel on cable.  I have it set that audio goes through the receiver and video directly to the tv. I noticed on the JVC it has play and record for both video and audio plugs on dvr and vcr.  If I hook up all of my components to the receiver and then video monitor to the tv, will I still be able to record to and from the dvr and the vcr (depending on my need)? What are the pro's and con's of either setup.

If you have all this in PDF files, shoot 'em to me.I'll draw thr lines for you.

I would like to hook up my components without having to turn on the receiver to watch tv from DVR or Cable if possible. I have Scientific Atlanta Explorer 8300 HD Cable DVR w/HDMI out, Samsung TV w/HDMI ,...

You should not lose any picture quality from the DVD player. I am currently having the similar setup with PS3 as the Blu-ray DVD player with HDMI and a Samsung DVD as regular player with component cable to a Samsung LCD TV. Remember the quality on Blu-ray is better than normal DVD so don't expect more than what it is.

Immediate power off anfter turning on.

Just a further note..
Before you replace the fuses, (be sure to get an identical replacement, wouldn't want to start a fire), so you remember how long ago you began to have this problem, and, if you can recall anything that might have caused it?
