The format on which you have written the file is not read on the DVD player and so when the files is burned please choose the option to write the files in the format which can play on any player mode when the request for burning comes up.
You mean, you burn the CD in your PC but you can't play it in external CD player ? Maybe you didn't burned it in "movie" mode, just burned in "data" mode. As you know, CD player can't play .avi or .mkv or other video formats. They only can play movie in .DAT format, and when you burn in "make a movie" mode, the burner will convert your movie to this format so you can re-open your movie via CD player. Or there is an error during the burning time, if this happen then you have to re-burn your movie into another CD.

It seems that you are not going through the right procedure of burning DVD movies. The first step before burning is to convert the movie file format to DVD format. I recommend "Format Factory" to convert as it is an open source free software and works wonderful. Once the conversion is over, you can now go ahead and burn it with good DVD burning software Burn4free.
For making the dvds for your dvd use a Ashampoo burning studio is very simple and is oing great job - only thing what you need to do is to show to the program wich file you want to be on the dvd and program itself is doing the rest of the job ....
But also you can try a llot of dvd converters and studios .... but the most important thing is that the burning software and converting software are from same publisher so for that one more time Ashampoo burning studio..
check to see what format your computer burns on.[ex:dvd-r, dvd-rw,dvd-+r,dvd-+rw]different dvd players play certain dvd formats.the format for burning on your computer is probably different from the dvd players that aren't playing the disc.you also must finalize the burned disc.
Hi, burning a WMV file to a dvd wont work on a standard dvd player due to the format, easiest way to fix the problem is using Nero, and selecting video disc and it will convert the file when it burns the disc to a playable format..
