Washing machine is a hot and cold fill, but I only have a cold water supply You can use a Y Piece connector (external link 4Washerhelp spares) to connect the hot and cold fill hoses to a single cold water supply. The washing machine will then work OK. Simply screw the Y-Piece onto the tap, and then screw the hot and cold fill hoses to the Y-piece and connect the other end of the fill hoses to the washing machine. (You may be able to buy this part also from a DIY store like B&Q)

Bought a hot water heater made by whirlpool for 2 weeks only had enough hot water to fill 1/4 of the tub then the water turned cold . They have replaced the hot water heater and still has same problem....

The down tube in the tank has fallen off or the hot and cold lines are reversed at the tank. I'm going to assume it is gas , if its electric you need to test the heating elements for continuity and temp settings. as well as the down tube in the top of the tank that sends the cold water feed to the bottom of the tank..

Zanussi IZ161W Front Load Washer Can you supply this from hot water feed rather than cold water outlet? I intend to use a heat pump which will generate hot water to 40-50DegC cheaply and the HW cylinder...

Not adviseable as you will be rinsing the clothes in hot water as opposed to cold, this could cause problems such as shrinkage depending upon what you are washing at the time.

Zanussi 1250 aqua cycle washing machine can it run on cold water only

If it has 2 inlets at the rear, then you need to connect the cold supply to the hot and cold inlets by means of a Y piece, available from most major retail stores like B&Q, or a plumbers merchants.
If only 1 water inlet, then simply connect to the inlet valve.

Engry problem

HI
Its true you are using power to heat the water....
BUT
all the time its heating through different temperatures, different stains are removed. Also its agitating for all this time. If you put hot water in only it wont wash as long. Also the incoming temperature could be too hot for some fabrics. Also you wil be using your hot water to do all the rinses.
Its up to you, but, zanussi know what they are doing

Plumbing

it depends if you have the connections already there. If not then you can make a tee branch from the hot and cold pipes running to your kitchen sink. Then solder 2 15mm branch pipes. this will now be your hot and cold feeds to your machine. At the end of the branches attatch a washing machine valve (red for hot, blue for cold. You can now attach the hoses from the machine to the valves you have just fitted. Really easy
