hi, your phone has a speaker...whenever you talk it is this speaker that allows the other person at the other end will hear what you are saying...so when this speaker is faulty, you will not be able to communicate with the other person...all you need do is to change the speaker referred to MOUTH PIECE.

It sounds like your microphone either is clogged or has gone bad. Take it to your carrier and get them to check it out for you.

Try turning your volume key up while u r talking with the other party. And if it still doesn't work ask the other party to do likewise on his or her HP.

If all else fail, send your phone to the agent for a check:)

Your experiencing ear-piece failure. This can be diagnosed as a manufacturer's defect. If you have insurance, visit your nearest service center for replacement options.

LG Chocolate is the worst phone EVER! i've already self-fixed two problems, and now a new problem that i cannot make phone calls / receive them (they do actually go through but i can't hear anything). someone please tell me how to fix this....

it can be two things causing this, the flex cable has gone bad and needs replacing (refer to http://www.fixya.com/support/t958388-lg_8500_phone_screen_gone_blank_fixed ) among the blank white screen and camera button issues I also lost the speaker. I could only hear using the head phones that plugged into the charger/data port. The other possibility, and I am not fully sure about this cause myself is that something (dust, dirt, or another foreign object) has gotten into the charger/data port and is causing the phone to think it has a head set attached to it. This is what my girlfriend told me that the verizon sales person said about her lg 8550 and fixed it by cleaning out the port. She could also only hear using her headset as well.

the vibrator can be replaced and then you need to have the flexcable replaced.....this will correct the issue

if you have tried raising the volume while on a call and you still have the same trouble then I'm afraid your earpiece has failed and you will need to take it to a tech and have the earpiece replaced

sounds like a failure, sent it back to the manufacturor for repair, Lg chocolates go wrong a lot
