Put the rubber seal on the bucket first, then put the spring on the valve stem, slip into the hard collar, then push it into the opening in the seal, it will snap into place.

I have a Hoover Steam Vac Dual Model # F7426-900. The nozzle and spring from the bottom of the soap dispenser popped out. Can this be fixed?

You will need a new valve assembly. ( part # 43513014, msrp $3.62 ) Place the rubber seal in first, then wet the valve and push it in with your thumb.

Hoover Dual V steam vac model F7425-900 won't dispense detergent

Check the spring loaded valve at the bottom of the detergent bottle.
Push it up with your finger or a pencil or some such thing and see
if fluid comes out. If it does, then the problem is the valve or tubing I
would suspect.

Leaking Solution Tank/Seal Install - Hoover Steam Vac

Not sure this will help, but we have a Hoover Steamvac F5843 and our valve seal seemed to have shrunk so the tank was leaking. Bought a new seal and had the same problem. How to install? There weren't any instructions or pictures of the part(s) involved in the manual. Online there were a few pics but nothing helpful. After careful examination of the existing part and where it was supposed to be, I removed the original off the valve stem, placed the new one on it and carefully pressed the valve stem with the seal into place. It didn't look quite right and we were thinking "now what?". My wife and I got the idea at the same time...install the clean water tank (with the stem & seal in the bottom) back onto the steam cleaner. I took it back off to see what the stem & seal looked like afterwords and voila...the seal was perfectly inserted where it should be and the tank no longer leaks! The 'peg' that presses up on the valve stem pushed the seal perfectly in place.

Hoover Steam Vac clean water tank valve leaks

a) make sure that there is not a place for a stair attachment. If
there is make sure air is not leaking through where the attachment goes
on because of damaged or misplaced fitting.

b) some steam vacs leave water behind them and **** up in front of
them. If you just walked forwad with the steam vac nothing would be
sucked into the tank.

c) try taking your finger off the trigger and using the steam vac. If
the tank still empties the trigger is stuck open.

d) try putting clean water in the dirty water tank only and using it on
a dry rug. If water goes somewhere from the dirty water tank you have
a leak.

e) take apart what you can and look at the parts. A good visual
inspection can solve many of these types of problem if you are careful
not to miss anything.

Hoover Steam Vac Dual Tank Bottom Valve Spring Assembly Part Needed

It appears that there is a problem with the o-ring design. The o-ring should maintain a certain OD dimension and keep the spring assembly from pulling throught the hole. I am trying to find the service manual to locate the o-ring part number but have had little luck so far. I think that hoover should have maybe used a higher derometer material.

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
You cannot replace the spring loaded value on the soap dispenser – it is a whole assembly and would need to replace the entire tank, you can buy them new or sometimes a local vacuum dealer may have a good used one on hand and that would work as well – check the yellow pages for a local vacuum dealer or Hoover dealer for replacement of the part.
