- Thats all well and good...the problem is...that it just started all of a sudden. The radio holds all of it's settings and favorites. If I was listening to station "A" and turned the radio off or turned the vehicle off, then turned them both on again, the radio would be tuned to station "A". Now when I turn either the radio or vehicle off, the radio always reverts back to the preview channel. I reset the radio using it's restore to factory setting option. But it still reverts back to the preview station whenever the radio or car is turned off. Is the radio defective?
The problem could be that the constant power wire for the stereo might not be connected or connected to the switched power. On the radio there are two power wires. One is red(constant power) and yellow(switched power). If the red wire is not connected to constant power then when you turn the key off the radio will lose power and revert back to the factory settings. Check those wires and let me know what you find.

- Either something could be defective in the radio now making the XM part of it to lose it's memory or XM updated the firmware on the XM software and caused the problem. Unless there is a setting in the radio menu to change the home station then you may need to live with it or change the radio. Did this problem happen not too long after XM and Sirius merged? Maybe that has something to do with it?
this problem is caused by the "keep alive memory" either being defective or it has no power (always hot), pull the radio out and check the power sources to the radio, you will have one hot wire (12 volts) with the ignition key turned to the off position, if u don't check for a blown fuse, it is possible this wire was never connected, so check that as well.

I had Lexus install an XM in my new car-2009 ES 350. Have several other XMs in car/office that work fine. No prior car XM issues with any vehicle. After about 4000 miles of working fine, the radio would periodically lose sound but not channel info. All other functions work fine ( AM/FM/CD). Turning off car and restarting it solved problem for awhile. It got worse, so dealership relaced receiver ( a Pioneer). Since then, nothing has worked. Receiver has been changed by dealership 3 times, antenna twice, even the in dash Lexus radio itself. XM has been consulted over and over as have Toyota and Lexus. We have rebuilt my XM account as recommended, refreshed radio, reactivated over and over. Nothing. Occasionally I can get Ch 1(Preview) and 247( weather) but no other channels. Generally it just says " loading" over and over. More than a little frustrating. Any ideas on cause and solution? Thanks

I have an xm radio in my car and it has locked up some how and I cannot get it to turn off or respond at all. Is there a way to reset it. I have unplugged everything and then reconnected. It just says "checking media" at the top and the numbers 21.29 are displayed at the bottom...Thank you for your help.
