The reason why it is doing that is because by law, a movie cannot be playing in the drivers veiw while the vehicle is in motion. the legitiment way to override this is to hook up the parking brake ground to your parking brake so when it is engaged you can watch a movie. NO ONE wants to go through the hassel of this. so heres what you do:
1. take the cordless phone mute wire(brown) and hold it to a grounded surface(any metal that it turn ends up touching the chasis
2. hit STOP twice
punch in 1,2,6, and 4
hit DOWN 1 time **at this point the display became visible and i could now see the menu which made it much easier.
hit DOWN one more time to change macrovision
hit PLAY/ENTER
hit SYS SETUP twice to save and exit menu
3. you can let go of the wire you are grounding and the video should still play.

My dvd is connected and shows the green light. I can open & close the disc door but nothing happens when I push th input button.

I'm sorry that the DVD player is displaying green light and nothing is displaying input button. Please follow the below general tips and check if that helps.
  1. Please make sure that the connections are secure and proper.
  2. Try inserting another disc and check the operation.
  3. Unplug the DVD player from wall outlet and connect it back after 1 minute to perform a power reset and check the operation.
  4. Check whether you're able to see the DVD player logo on the TV screen.
  5. If not, keep pressing the INPUT button until it makes any changes on the TV screen for a minute.

I hope the information helpful. If the issue persists, please get back to me with more details about the issue so that I can more look in to this. Please include the following information in your reply.
  • When did the issue started occurring?
  • Have you made any changes since it's last normal working?

Make sure your receiver is set to either "auto-select" or "digital" rather than "analog" (button on front display).

HELP!!!!

there is a blue wire with a yellow stripe on this unit that if you hook it straight to ground you will never have to worry about it again.... This wire is actually the parking brake wire which only is to allow you to watch movies while you are stopped and the emergency brake is engaged but if you take it and hook it straight to ground it will bypass all that crap...

brake override should say no
I was told to change macrovision to no
