Re: Maytag Neptune Front Loader Washer MAH6500AWN. Built June 2002, shows dlsplay code "do" when starting a wash. Water starts to fill, 49 shows for minutes of cycle, door locks,, but "do" appears, and door will not open unless plastic release cord in soap dispenser area is used. Repair person seemed inept and says entire control board is out, but he never opened anything up, just saw the "do" code. Can I fix this myself? They want around $500 and it would have been more but they are crediting me for the original service call. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

mine is a older maytag but heres my problem, on the bottom of the pump and in between the pully there is a thin circular peice of metal that keeps working its way up and grinding on the bottom of the washer. i can get it worked back down into the pulley housing but within a min it workes its way back out. besides that it seems to work fine ,is there any way to stop this from happening without buying a new pump. thanks for your time. .
