Question about HTC Touch P3450 Smartphone
"This operation will delete all your personal data, and reset all setting to manufacturer default.Press Action to restore manufacturer default, or press other keys to cancel."
This message appeared spontaneously while phone was on but not while I was on a call. If I try to restore by depressing hidden button on bottom of phone this message goes off, only to reappear when I try to turn on phone again. If I remove battery and turn on phone the message again reappears. What can I do?!? Please help! Thank you, Michael
I've got the same problem and I finaly succeed to fix the problem.
Here is how to proceed:
1- push the upper side "power button" and the right side "Photo button" at the same time with one hand (yes, I know it's hard ;-))
2- With the stylus, press the reset button (the hole at the lower side)
3- Before the evil message comes up again, put your stylus down and press the central button and the left directional button simultaneously, keeping the two buttons of action 1 pressed (it's besome harder!)
4- If you succeed to press this four buttons for a while, your cell phone should come to life again!
The good thing is that the flash memory has not been erased and the previous content is still available.
The bad thing is that my "Photo button" is now unusable and each time I press the "Power button" it acts as the "photo button" did before.
The solution is to associate "No action" to the Button#1 in the configuration menu.
Another side effect: each time I press the reset button, I've got again the evil message and I have to proceed like above to recover my phone.
Well I hope this will help you.

This is the clear storage advice if u want your phone to start up again the way it did when u switched it on the first time after u bought it aka manufacturer default, then just type in the code 1234 asked and it will restart and reload and will delete all ur previous memory and start up like a brand new htc....

Here's what I did
I pushed all the buttons and shoved the stylus into the phone's rear-end simultaneously - worked!
Then it happened again, but the above method didn't work. In desperation, I banged it on the table a few times, and hit the on/off button. Finally re-booted
brute force prevails. but goingto get a nokia n95 now. HTC is hopeless
