Question about Denon DCM-280 5-Disc CD Changer

1 Answer

"Err" message When I power up my Denon 280 5-Disc changer it looks ok. But after a few seconds the screen goes black and is replaced with "Err" with what looks like a footnote "1". My system runs through a Denon receiver and the CD player power cord runs to the receiver. The only recent change was that we added a subwoofer to the system.

Denon DCM-280. Tray won't open, there are CDs in

If you don't wanna send it for service, open the chassis of the player and free the CDs from the tray. Its highly likely that the CDs came off the trays and got stuck inside.

Denon DCM 5000 error code

The disc is loaded upside-down in the disc rack or the disc is dirty or scratched, try another disc and make sure the top side (label side with printing) is facing towards the back of the rack, away from you. The bottom or data side should face out towards the front of the rack. If that does not work then your laser picups inside may need cleaning. Make sure your disc is clean and now scratches.

Getting ERR message on CD Player

My kids always cause this one ! Switch off power, remove cover. Remove four screws holding top black plastic disc cover and then remove all of the black plastic ( x 7 ) disc holders. You may find that the aluminium cross structure has come adrift. Replace into the slots again and replace all the disc holders. If you want, you can check before replacing cover, by then ejecting and 'disc skipping'. It should thne be ok. If it has been forced, the aluminium cross structure thing may have also come out of the slot it should in in on the right hand side. Slide the disc frame in or out until it can be fitted and retest.
