have you already tried reflashing the software to the phone. you can get it here http://direct.motorola.com/hellomoto/Motosupport/source/SoftwareUpdateSelect.asp?country=USA&language=ENS
if the phone is unlocked this may possibly lock it again.
what i would try first is what is called a soft reset. remove the battery for about 2 minutes.
have you recently installed any programs to your phone ?
