Stays in wash cycle, won't drain and is leaking

check the float.

it is probably stuck in the down position. lift it up.

my float is an "air trap" type and occasionally needs to be cleaned out. grease and junk gets caught up in it. I just reach under with my finger and scoop it out.

if you are having no luck at all, your float may be cracked or something. If so, and you just want to drain your dishwasher, prop up the float and run the dishwasher for a few minutes until it's drained.
