Hi,

I'm hoping you can help me:

Access is denied instantly when I click on the drive as administrator, when I go to properties is says disk size is 0 MB. The hardware is indicated as 'ready, no problem found', drive works fine when itunes or PowerDVD are used to open a CD or DVD.

The drive does not work at all when logged on as "guest".

Any suggestions ?

Thanks for the suggestions. I don't think I have a virus infection, there are no other symptoms and the anti-virus software I use is up-to-date.

Registry mess-up sounds interesting, I will read up on that. Same for formating the hard-drive and reinstall........ the only thing I'm worried about is that the drive might not work at all anymore other doing that.......

Thanks for offering me to help with instructions, will let you know when I get stuck !

YOU HAVE A VIRUS INFECTION.. OR YOUR REGISTERY IS MESSED UP, YOU CAN TRY A REGISTERY CLEANER such as TUNEUP UTILITIES or you can do what i would do and back up my data to another harddrive, FORMAT and REINSTALL if you need instructions on how to do that let me know
