You need to be a manager, with a Mgr/Prg key, you can change the GST on the P2 Mode.

I have a panasonic CF72 how do you activate windows with microsoft

When you first start your computer if it isn't registered already then within 15 minutes a popup should come up asking you to register it. If you don't get this popup, you can go to the Start Menu > Control Panel > System. On the system page there should be a link that you can click that says "Activate Windows".

There will be three ways to activate it Direct Connection, Modem, Telephone. Make sure you have your Windows Key ready. You can find it on your Laptop/PC(usually on a sticker[on laptops its usually on the bottom or under the battery]). If you used a CD that you bought there should be a sticker in the cd case somewhere.

Guys, I am trying to format my Sony laptop. But halfway of formatting, it always stuck at expanding windows files where the percentage is not changing at all (0% all the time). When I cancelled the...

try booting into bios, set bootup options to boot from CD/DVD, and then restart, and follow the onscreen instructions.
There should be no more problems, unless the CD/DVD itself is scratched/ smudged etc.
Hope that helps.
Cheers from NZ

Hey helpful people!! My Acer laptop has a similar problem:" Userinit logon application" This program is closing down. Now the laptop is on BUT the START MENU is NOT AVAILABLE. Can someone out there post a...

You've got the wrong entry in your registry.
Userinit string should be:

Note the trailing comma which must be there.
Often this entry is damaged by malware.

Ways to deal with this:

  1. Install Windows on a second partition, load the damaged registry hive and fix it.
  2. Boot with a Bart's PE or ERD Commander and fix the registry entry.
Or if you manage to get the register editor running just fix the registry key.

In the register you have to go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/Winlogon

Find the line named: Userinit
Make sure it points to: C:\WINDOWS\system32\userinit.exe,

If it doesn't exist, make one, if it doesn't point to the same place, change it.
