Question about HP iPAQ H5550 Pocket PC

Lying ipaq H5550!

My h5550 will not charge the battery.
I´ve been charging it successfully via a hp adapter that plugs into the synch port for the last 3 weeks, but now I can´t charge either of my batteries.
When the Ipaq is connected, the orange charging led light starts to flash, and the ipaq tells me that the battery is charging, but it isn´t!
My last battery has now hit 0% of charge, so I cannot use off the adapter.
Can anyone help?? I´ve alreay tried different batteries (one is only a month old), and I´ve performed soft and hard resets of the ipaq, taken the battery out for a short while, and soft reset the ipaq while connected to the charger. I´ve now run out of things to try!

It's a problem with either the memory board or the button board. With my h5550, the bottom buttons started to stop working and eventualy the PPC stoped charging all together. You can find parts for it online. If all the buttons are working fine, then it's most likely the motherboard. Otherwise it should be the button board.

My IPAQ h5550 wont charge when plugged in there are no indications on the device this applies to all methods of charging.

I have had this problem before and found that if I put it on the charger for 20 minutes or so, (no lights), then did a hard reset (press the button on the bottom with a paperclip and hold the power button for 7 seconds) the lights would come on to indicate charging. If not, by now it is old and just may not work anymore. Good luck.

How long have you owned this cellphone?

Sadly, batteries gets worn out. Especially in old-type PDA's/Smartphones. If you have used this phone for 1 year+, you are probably experiencing these problems because the phone is old, and the battery worn out.

No power

Sometimes the backup battery has to charge first. Leave it plugged in overnight. If that does not work get a new battery.

Power socket / plug.

Hi, If you search the web for ipaqrepair, you can buy the connector for just over a tenner, and solder it on yourself (If you´re brave!) or the circuit board is available for about 55 quid.
It looks like they can repair it for you too, if you ask for a price

If you take a look on the back of your battery, it will give you a mAh value ie 1550mAh, the higher the number, the longer it will last.. most replacement batteries are 1550mAh, and very cheap, but you can get 3000mAh batteries, which should last twice the time, but they´re as much as 5 times as expensive... they obviously take longer to charge too..
