most mp3 players and some cameras can be connected to pc with a basic "usb cable". every camera and mp3 player should come with one but if you don't have one, you can find them anywhere for cheap. even dollar stores will carry them. and any mini usb to usb will work but some transfer the data(images and music files) at different speeds so some will be faster than others.
From the looks of the port on the side in the manual, all you need is a USB to Mini USB cable, you can also get a Mini USB AC adapter separately or as part of a combo with the cable. Hope that helps. Here's a picture of a Mini USB tip to ensure that it looks correct.
Well, after looking at a few pictures, I've determined that the type of USB cable it uses to transfer media to and from the computer is a pretty standard type of cable. You just need to take the MP3 player into Meijer or Walmart, and ask someone in the electronics department for a 5 prong USB cable. Or show them the bottom of the mp3 player and ask them for that type of cable. Like I said, you can get them anywhere that sells electronics basically.
Simplest answer would be a bad USB cable or on board USB port. Are you using the same cable and/or USB port for both MP3 players? If not you may want to try another.Try a different USB port first. If that does not work try a different USB cable. All USB cables are not the same. Different connectors/ends for different devices on the non-PC end. If you're using the same cable/port for both MP3 players I'd say the player may be nothing more than a shiny piece of plastic and metal with some silicon thrown in. It's broken dude!
Hope this helps.
