Question about Genius Pensketch 9x12 USB Deep Blue (31100006101)

1 Answer

Pen deactivate After installing the drivers and then installing the trial of Photoshop CS it came with, I was using the tablet/pen in Photoshop. I'd read in the manual that at times the pen will turn off if not in use for some time. In the middle of using it, it stopped responding. Both my computer mouse and the tablet mouse respond, but the pen refuses to 'wake up'.

My G-Pen 4500 tablet won't work after I upgraded my photoshop to CS5.1 but it works perfectly fine on photoshop CS2. I'd already tried re-installing the driver and changing the compatibility... Please

The best way to get out of that trouble is to uninstall all CS applications and re-install the one you would like to use. CS5 came with alot of new features and in a way, upgrading CS1 to CS5 would surely give you a bit of a headache.

Pen tool not actually drawing

I also solved the problem by installing the driver from the website. The trick was to uninstall the old driver first.

My Genius Gpen 4500 has shown no Pressure recognition on Photoshop, Painter and the wizard.

Hello. I'm not quite sure if this will be useful for you, but i'll tell you what happened to me. I bought the very same model but without the mouse, the G-pen450. When I just bought it, I just intalled the driver from the CD, and both the painter X and photoshop cs1 trials included. I had no problem when I was drawing in photosho cs1, but when I uninstalled it and and installed photoshop cs2, I was still able to draw with the pen, but it had no pressure sensibility, no matter how hard did I press the pen against the table or how many times i enabled or disabled the pressure settings in both photoshop and the tablet driver.

what i did was downloading the new driver (the 2.0 version) for the g-pen450 from the genius page, and simply installed it ... and it didn't work, worse; now even the pen suite didn't recongize the pressure control, so, what I did was to uninstall the WHOLE software included with the table along with the driver, and then I reinstalled the new version (2.0). After I installed it, the instaling program asked me to restart the computer, so I did it. Then, after the computer was done restarting, I connected the tablet to a USB port, and then the computer recognized it, actually it told me that it recognized the tablet, two HID compatible dispossitives, and a HID compatible mouse pen. It opened that window that appears everytime you connect new hardware to the computer, and it proceeded to "install" all the drivers needed for the dispossitives.

After the computer finished installing, it asked again to restart the PC, soooo I restarted it again, when it was done, I connected the tablet once again, and this time it displayed that "your new hardware is installed and ready to use" balloon on the bottom right corner of the screen. So I tried opening photoshop CS2 again and drawing with the tablet, and this time it did work perfectly.

I think it's matter of uninstalling the old driver, and the bundle software (annotate all, pen commander, pen mail, pen signer, etc. ) and then instaling the 2.0 version of the driver.

Pen pressure and scale problems

I also use Intuos 3 tablet, did you already try replacing the tip and reconfiguring the pen to the screen? You can find this in the driver software, it synchronizes the pen and tablet.
If you already tried that, does the problem only occur in Photoshop? Also, check your brush preferences, you can go back to your default settings and see. If talking to Wacom fails, you might have a bad pen or tablet.
